Circus proprietor Max Medici enlists former star Holt Farrier and his kids Milly and Joe to look after a newborn elephant whose outsized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. However after they uncover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an unbelievable comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere, who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his latest, larger-than-life leisure enterprise, Dreamland.
